Sat July 25 Mostly Waltz 3pm to 7pm	Cakewalk & Polka (partnered) dance class 3pm to 3:55pm taught by Simon & Bonnie, all levels. (Cakewalk is the great Afro-American dance of the 19th century which also became a huge fad in white society. The Lindy Hop stars of the Swing Era Savoy Ballroom knew Cakewalk as you can see in the film The Spirit Moves. You can also see Shorty George and his partner doing a little bit of Cakewalk at the end of their Lindy Hop performance in the 1928 film After Seben.)	Mostly Waltz Dance featuring excellent visiting three person dance and waltz band! 4pm to 7pm	Dovercourt House	Dance $10, $15 with the class ($3 off for full-time students) Special deal: $25 for the whole afternoon and evening, both dances and all three classes, full-time students $20.

Kevin St. Laurent & Emily "Jo" Hoffberg Lindy Hop Weekend June 5-6-7 in Toronto!!!

Kevin & Jo are world renowned Lindy Hop teachers, dancers, performers and champions who are invited to teach around the world. Saturday Night Swing at Dovercourt features some of the best and most swinging live swing bands anywhere, plus great DJ'd music on the band's breaks, plus excellent beginner dance lessons. Everyone is welcome including beginners. There is no need to bring your own dance partner because partners rotate in the lessons, and at the dances most people change partners for each song. There is no need to book in advance, simply show up at the door and you will be welcome. Most of those who come are in their 20s, 30s and 40s, some older, some under 20.

Lindy Hop is the most popular swing dance in the world today and also the most popular swing dance of the Swing Era.
